Woodbridge Deanery Synod – 10 June 2010 – Key Items
• Synod were treated to the subtle art of being able to talk comfortably about church finances, that included being animated, excited, enthusiastic, truthful and believable – qualities ably demonstrated by all present with a little help from our expertly fluent speaker the Revd Nigel Hartley.
• Revd Ruth Hatchett was welcomed in her new role in the Wilford Team Ministry
• Congratulations to Revd Graham Hedger whose portfolio now includes Assistant Diocesan Secretary
Successes:
• Archdeacon Judy’s Lent course had been inspirational and very well received.
• Revd Clare Sanders was warmly congratulated on the success of the Children’s Workshop held in March
• The Archdeacon’s Visitation held in Aldeburgh in May had welcomed new and returning Churchwardens.
• St John’s Alive Festival had been truly alive and kicking!
Finance:
The Deanery discussion in April on allocation of Parish Share and subsequent individual PCC / Benefice meetings culminated in a motion that Woodbridge Deanery move to the Annual Unrestricted Regular Income (AURI) method of allocation being defeated.
44 votes were cast - 17 in favour and 27 against. The Woodbridge Deanery will therefore continue to use the cost per post method of allocation.

Thursday 11 November 2010 in the Victory Hall, Hasketon when the guest speaker will be Jo Collins from Age Concern – Ministry for Older People.
